Hi,
I am looking for a pair (batter & snare side) 15" 8 lugs hoops for a Ludwig marching snare. Did they used to make them COB?
Thanks!

go search on ebay. There are a TON of them right now. and yes, they did come in COB....
50$ for one hoop! That's what they should cost?
Yes! that is why you should have bought the one I showed you on ebay it sold for a cheap price. Parts are always more Individually.
look at it this way the drum I sent you the link to, the seller could of strip the parts off of it and made two to three times of what the price the drum just sold for.

Thanks. I've found a drum closer to where I'm at but with no hoops. Will there be such a difference between regular and cob hoops?
I have a 15" Ludwig COB snare side hoop I'd sell if you're interested.

I have cob or nob on all my ludwig kits to me they make a huge difference, they focus the drum better but it seems to be more on the toms than the snare drum, but with that said I live here in the US so it's economical to me, on a 12x15 with the standard steel rim your drum will not have this problem or you could just get the newer 2.3mm steel hoops that will basically do what a cob rim does, I'm glad you found yourself a drum.

Thanks. I'll see if I could get a pair at a reasonable price. If not, I will get a regular steel hoop.
Surely you can find the 2.3mm hoops in europe, they don't have to be ludwig, ludwig doesn't make their own rims any longer they haven't for many many years, get some triple flange 2.3mm from gibralter,or cannon or who ever, just triple flange chrome 2,3mm that is all you need. what year is your drum you bought, if it's 70's they are steel and are the 1.6mm hoops
It's a 60's wfl. Hope it will sound good :-)
I only know STDRUMS in Germany for buying parts. If you know of other online store I'll be glad to know.
