Hey Guys, I recently played at a place down in New Orleans that had a house bass drum----it was really old, large in diameter (at least 24 inches), and skinnier in width than modern drum kit bass drums. My guess is the drum was 1940s or earlier. I have no idea where to find one of these, but I thought I'd post here. I really fell in love with the sound----I feel like that bass drum is THE sound of trad jazz---if anyone has any tips on where to find one of these it would be greatly appreciated.
