a little bit OT...

Now we know it's a Trowa kit, I realize the topic isn't in the good section, I'm sorry, I didn't know at first.

If a mod wanted to move it in the good section... Or perhaps this is not very important...?

I completed the title to make future search easier. EDIT : seems not working, can't change the title of the thread ??

cheers

Did you try both Altenburger and Stabil? Until recently Stabil has been advertising that they make heads for the older Trixon sizes. The Trixon drum was exactly the same size as yours---------500mm. Stabil heads are single ply----very similar to Remo Diplomats and I think cheaper than the custom Remo heads.

As a last resort----I do have custom Remo 500mm heads in stock but they were shipped up here to Canada , so they are pretty expensive. P.M. me if you are interested. I can price them out for you.

That is a really nice old Tromsa set. ---oldest one I have seen in N.A. seems to have '60's bowtie T's on the front-----Ajax, Edgware or maybe Rogers? Is the snare oversize? 38cm. maybe or is it a real 14". I have a couple of these bass drums and they are 540mm----21 1/4". Even the Trixon heads don't fit them.

humm, ok, I didn't understand there was two names. But do you have a link ? because, I just googled Stabil-Plastkfelle and obtain only ONE result... this thread !! Cool Dude

I spelled it wrong---it is Stabil Plastikfelle. Here is a link to a dealer near Hamburg, who carries every size you could imagine but unbelievably not 50cm. http://www.westharzer-musikhaus.de/shop_content.php?action=success&coID=7

I just searched Stabil, on the sight. Altenburger is still advertising that they can produce every size of drumhead-----perhaps to special order in quantity. I will look and see what I have as used heads. Perhaps I have something for you. Phil.

Just for the update : in contact with Stdrums.de, Gerd asked me to check the BD dimension and ooops, it's not 50 cm but 49.5 cm...

That might be even worse because it gets more difficult to make a 20" work.

Perhaps Gerd can come up witb one. Maybe there are some 20" heads that have a shallower collar and you can get a 20" hoop to work? But you do have over a cm. of slop per side

I did some research and found out that the 50cm. heads have disappeared from all suppliers. There is only custom from Remo or Kolberg Percussion in Germany.-------both tres expensive.

unfortunately, Gerd said no...

I'm afraid 1/2 " difference is too big... I can try, I have a new Remo 20" at home, but I think it will be destroy after... :)

To look more closely, the current heads are highly deformed so I ask myself is it is not some kind of 20" after all ?!?!

Well, I will add a line in my post in the WTB section... ;)

Thanks Calfskin

Cheers
