I would say it is as the throw off reads a Duplex drum.

As for the year, I would say 1920s/1930s up to 1940-41, before the metal restrictions for the war started, since the whole drum is heavy metal.

Rogers used the same throw off and butt plate on their WW2 snare (1941-45) drums pictured below:

Hi Gary, I found this drum without the butt and it did not have a badge either. I found a vintage replacement that matched the same foot print of the original one..Im not shure what make it was. M

The Slingerland Cook book dates that duplex throw off up to 1934 for a 6 lug 4x14 tube lug model.

Does add though that 1940-41 the wood shell with that throw off was replaced with a 6 1/2" x 14" shell.

Great info thanks, mine is a 6.5'' shell. Dose the Slingerland book show a badge that would have been on this snare?

Wow, crazy; I have the exact same drum in 5x14 size (also in Minneapolis). Had it for many years. I always assumed it was a Duplex, despite no badge or engraving. Do the Rogers and Slingerland version of the throw-off have the Duplex name stamped on them??? I also thought mine was ca. 1925, but maybe it's a bit younger than that...

The sides of the Rogers example isn't marked.

That is what makes your drum a Duplex. It is marked. Could be early 20s. Not sure about the late teens though. Reminds me too much of a Ludwig & Ludwig from the 1920s/1930s . Very similar to those tubs.
