Old Ludwig? set on craiglist? Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Loading...

I found these on craigslist. Does anyone have information, or know the value of this set?

This is what the ad says;

"This vintage Ludwig kit consists of a 26x14 bass drum, 15x10 tom, and a 16x12 tom. All of the drums have the original wood hoops and all drums have interior reinforcement hoops as well. The bass drum is a Pioneer model from the late 20's to early 30's. The 15" tom is from the 1930's and the 16" tom is from the early 1940's".

They look like converted marching drums to me.Value is a tough one there.They're already altered and in non original condition,so it's anybody guess.But I bet they sound great.

15" tom looks like a WW2 era drum.

Strange. The only modification appears to be the black spray paint. There might be extra holes. I wouldn't pay more than $350 for the three drums due the amount of elbow grease involved with refinishing, but then I don't have much extra time or money. Good luck.

The listing for this set is asking $600.00, but I agree, too many irregularities to deal with for that price! Here are pics of the badges on this set.

That is probably a ten footer......They look good from ten or more feet away. I'd say that they are worth $200 maximum for that group of drums. They may sound good for what they are. I don't care what brand they are. They are just old marchers that have been painted.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
