I haven't been around as long as most on here... but this is me at 16 years old in 1998. High school auditorium before a rehearsal, I believe.

From PopsOldSkins

Me in 1968 behind (which I thought were Slingerlands) some sort of MIJ drums.

Pops - man, the Roll & Tuck Kustom amps brought back some memories! I spent a lot of time sitting in between roll & tuck Kustoms and Fender twins.

I'm looking for some pix I have from 20 years ago, early 90's of my old band. I'll post one if I can find one. I have no photos of me behind drums from when I was a kid. You guys that do have old photos are lucky.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

First real kit, 1967 Slingerland Jet kit taken 1970.. Complete with the dreaded Satin Neru jacket.. ( kit was Blue Satin Flame, Jackets were Turquoise Satin with Metalic Gold Trim), note the band uniform was chosen by the singer/bandleader... and absolutely hated by everyone else in the band. Note my cowbell mount. On the Jet kit the BD had sticksaver chrome rims so nowhere to mount a cowbell. I made it from a block of wood, some masking tape, wire coat hangers and silver paint.. the two top tension screws held it in place..

Cheers

No 'kiddie pic' of me when I first started, but I found this one! I had to pull teeth to get it too! I'm going to upload the video the still frame is captured from and post a link in another thread. This shot is from 1991... so no cracks about the hair! lol

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
