Great story. My guitar teacher was 91 when I first tok lesspns from him (only 10 years ago...) He was charging a mere $7 for 30 minutes! The great Slim Bryant. Lived to 100. Still miss him. Had so many great stories.

That's right! Wasn't there a guitarist here visiting us just a short time ago asking for advice on a Tama brass snare. I believe he said he was buying one as a gift for his drummer. Both the giver and the reciever in this story are obviously the kind of friends we all want to have and we all want to be. It's reassuring to know that there's still wonderful, selfless, giving people living quietly among us who may go unnoticed, but add to the greater good.

So I put the drum through its paces last night at our first rehearsal to open for the Outlaws next week-all I can say is wow. In a tight space with two guitars, a bass, and a Hammond B3 all going at it, the drum cut through it like butter. Absolutely all that its reputation says it is.
