Hi Purdie! Thanks for the compliments on the how shiny it is! It's a beauty for sure and goes with my 1967 Headliner kit. These COB Powertone snare drums are really workhorses! Can be tuned low, due to the 8-lug design, but that wonderful COB shell really gives it some bite! Every drummer should have a vintage Supra 400, Acrolite and a COB Powertone. You can cover allot of ground with those three metal drums!
Opinions on a Rogers Snare Last viewed: 6 minutes ago
I hear you. I was going to add this one to my mardi gras kit, but I'd rather wait and see if I can find a matching snare for that kit. In the metal dept. my go-to snares are my 6.5 brass Slingy and my 5" Ludwig hammered bronze. Don't need anything else. I can pretty much get anything I need out of a metal drum from those two. For 'wood' I have my Oaklawn Camco Jasper shelled snare. FAT-city, all three of em. I (finally) found my 'perfect snares,' I'm in hog-heaven.

I keep repeating myself, but since it is a COB PT thread . . . Under rated drums, imo. They have a really nice tone and great snare articulation. I have had many people mention them on recordings I've done. My theory is that in Rogers drums; the Dyna overshadowed the PT. The Supra got great press; but I prefer how the PT plays to my COB Super and alloy Supra. Don't think it has the same crunch as those, live. But I have a lot of respect for these drums. Well made, that's for sure.
+1 What he said ^there.
Powertone is a fantastic drum.
