Offeres?

I'll look at all offers - I won't be insulted if they're too low - I'll just say no. I'd like to know what the street value is. My guess is over $2K....I've got way more than that into them.

Shipping from Canada could kill any deal within the USA but give it a shot if you're interested - we may be able to work something out

I've had these for sale here and elsewhere a few times in the past year or so.

Orphaned Gretsch shells.

14x24 1949 bass drum

9x13 40's tom

1616 1947 (6ply....a little unusual) floor tom

6.5x14 1948 Super Structure snare

No extra holes

Most of the hardware is original to each drum. I did have to find a set of 8 t-rods and claws for one of the bass drum heads. These 1940's t-rods are just that much longer than any that I was able to find so I bought a set of single tention t-rods with the era correct claws and cut them down and threaded them. They did the job and the only way you would notice they're not original to the seperate tension bass drum is if you looked at the end of them and you'd see they're not factory rounded. I could file/round em off but why - they work.

I tucked a 1930's Ludwig bass drum head on the resonant side.

These drums sound amazing.

It's a tough nut to crack. Gorgeous drums that probably sound incredible, and are in great condition for their age, but the sizes limit the field of interested parties. The right person probably would indeed pay $2k, but you'd need to discount considerably to get others interested.

Thanks for you input Mr. Poppies. I pretty much feel the same. I will probably end up selling them to someone that just has to have these 40's Gretsch drums.
