I use an automotive detailing brush, like an electric toothbrush and Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound. It's messy, but very effective. It gets the chrome clean and leaves it protected. You may want to consider doing a deep cleaning, a full on detailing with lugs off and then wrap the springs as you put everything back togeter. I unroll cottn balls and wrap a small amount around each spring as I put it back in the lug casing. I also ave a technique for cleaning the t-rods and inserts. Ask and I shall reveal...might even be persuaded to do a new "How To" video. I need to make another one for the series anyway.
