NO, this is not "THE" oyster black pearl Ludwig snare. I certainly don't want to mislead anybody.
It's simply a drum that I had bought from a gentleman playing in a Beatles Tribute Band that he wrapped in Precision Drum's 60s Oyster Black Pearl. The prior owner painted the interior shell white to resemble the actual Ludwig drums from the 60s.
This drum is extremely sound, both functionally and cosmetically speaking. The wrap, rims an hardware look almost new to my one untrained eye.
There is one hole in the shell (see pics) that looks like it was drilled for a grommet which has since been removed. I've tried to show a pic of the hole from the outside as well as the inside of the shell. You'll notice that the hole is somewhat bigger on the inside. I also noticed two extremely small holes on the interior of the shell not seen on the outside. I'm assuming that these might have been used to mount a badge. I can't say for sure. I couldn't get a good pic of these unfortunately. Both heads on the drum are in extremely good condition. I haven't even struck the drum since I purchased it. The batter side head is a white (non-coated) Remo WeatherKing Emperor. The snare side head is a Ludwig Remo UK Drum Head Made By Remo in China (which makes absolutely no sense to me).
I'm asking $150 plus $20 shipping for this one. If anyone's interested please feel free to drop me a line.
THANKS for looking!
