PAISTE 602 flat ride, 70's? Last viewed: 27 minutes ago

Loading...

I have a PAISTE 602 flat ride cymbal that I'm reluctantly letting go. This is the real deal. I think it's from the 60's or 70's. The only logo left is in red ink "Medium Flat Ride". Great shape, no nicks, key holes, or cracks. It does have electrical tape residue on the underside. Not sure of the value, so I'll start at $400 shipped (lower 48 only)- you tell me if I'm high on crack :-)

Sound clip is horrible, it can't have that much overtone and such a dark knock! (I hesitate to call that a ping...)

Assuming it sounds a lot better, I think $150-200 is the going rate in this economy, maybe $250 from someone who's dying for one.

If it really sounds like it does in the clip, I think $100 is the best you can expect.

I just bought a terrific 20" 602 '60s ride (not a flat ride though) at the Chicago Show for $100, and no special discount for being Bermuda. :)

If it does really sound that gongy in the clip, what happened to it or is it a misfit?..Could being dropped on the edge knock it out of whack?...I,d pay 100 for it but i,d need to hear it in a different setting.

Hit like you mean it!!

Yeah, I think it's my video recorder. It's a Sony Bloggie, not stereo either. Here's a tune I recorded with it. You can hear it in the 1/2 time choruses real good. Records excellent. I'll probably just hang on to it for these prices- I thought it was more valuable and rare :-/

Good drumming, bro! Your band sounds like Al Stewart. I Like!!! Cymbal sounds like it's supposed to. I'd hang on to it until the economy turns around.
