Paiste/Ocheltree drums are the result of an inspiration shared by Jeff Ocheltree and Erik Paiste in 1998.

Those hex head bolt lugs are freaking awesome! Overall 10 out of 10 on that kit. It is stunning.

These shouldnt be confused with the lower-end wooden Paiste drums. Not that they were bad, just pretty ordinary.

As far as these Paiste bronze drums go, I'd give up body parts for them.

I'd give up your body parts for some also!...wait, that didn't *** did it? LOL! Serious bad-a$$ness...Jeff makes some serious stuff, except for that GC Carbon Steel crap, heard horror stories from guys about hardware issues on those drums. I think they were an overseas outsourced product though. Anything Jeff puts his hands on is usually great stuff, but you pay for it! There are a lot of big time players that use his snares, Steve Smith & Carter Beauford to name a couple. The Paiste kit is my holy grail...Carl Palmer played one & they sounded great!...but Carl could make soup cans sound great. Anyone remember what the list price on these monsters was? I tried to buy one of the snares several years ago on sneezeBay, when the bidding went over 1K I dropped out. Very cool drums...they'd look really good with my Paiste Sigs hanging above them!

Just to add a thought, really don't understand why Jeff used a NickelWorks throw on them. They're great throws, but had serious issues with the plastic casing NW used until switching materials a little while back. I think Trick would have been a much better choice, but nobody's paying over a grand for one of my builds, so I guess I just need to shut-up! LOL!

From vintagemore2000

because when this drum line was in production, the Nickel was the only one available, trick didn't exist then throw off wise I mean, also to answer your question about the snare drum cost the 5x14 was 1900.00 and the 6 1/2x14 was 2900.00. I got to play a set of these at Namm they were to die for. and as I've already mentioned. This kit to me is the Ultimate, Since my favorite kit is My Ludwig Stainless steel kit.

When did Trick start making their throws?...the company's been around since 1989. Couldn't find anything about when they started making the throw & didn't want to ask. Ordered several throws & lugs from them 2 weeks ago & they're still "Processing the Order"...love their stuff but really hate their Customer Service. Took me a month to get my last order from them!
