Does anyone out there have any drums built by or modified by Paul Bleifuss?

Hi there,

As I recall, Duncan Moore said he has 2 kits made by Paul that came from Paul's partner/builder Bill Sylvester who has passed as well. Preston from Vessal Drums and I are giving away a drum made on some of Paul's equipment in his memory June 18 at the San Diego Drum Show. Paul was a fine human being, musician, innovative drum maker/craftsmen, so we wanted to do something to honor him at the show. I am hoping the recipient will be someone that will appreciate what Paul has contributed to the drumming community. I am hoping Duncan will bring one of Pauls drums to the show.

Hello, I'm new to the site. I have a cool set of bleifuss drums I picked up a few years back, sound great look great, bebop kit, maple, natural finish!! Sadly I'm parting with them for larger drum sizes but would like to get the drums into the right hands. Let me know if you can help! Email me with any questions [email protected]

I have a 22,13,16, kit in figured maple that Paul built for me in the early 80s. Best sounding drums I have ever owned!

I know this post is old, but I just acquired a Gretsch bop kit that he refinished to natural maple. Sounds and looks awesome.

When I gigged at la Costa Health Spa, I met Paul, who was on another stage. I looked at his kit and noticed that the shell interiors were totally smooth like glass and paint/coated white. The re-rings were molded/filled so they flowed right to the edge. Very pool coping like.

I was impressed.

He had also laminated exotic wood over the outsides of the shells and it was gorgeous.

We became friends.

He did a lot of work for me on my Blaemire Kit #1.

He was a very friendly, cool and extremely talented person.

Thank You Paul

Could it be this one?

"No, not that one". But that one sure is cool.

I have no idea why I responded (above) that he did not refinish this kit.

I really do not know.

He may have.

I just remember him refinishing the exteriors and interiors all the way.

Exotic wood veneers on the outside and glass like interiors with the reinforcement rings Bondoed? in.

No sharp corners. Smoooooth.
