Pay Pal wants your blood Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Ebay & PP are both borderline scam operations. I opted out of both almost a year ago. It's been the most -peaceful- 10 months of my selling life. True, I don't sell near as much, or as fast, but I'm willing to trade a little expedience for the peace of mind I've enjoyed since I dumped both e-pray and pocket-pal.

Absolutely. This is no different than most 'credit' type companies. They need to know that they know they will get your money. They also need to have the power to hold payments and such. It's the cost of doing 'credit' business. There are MANY alternatives out there. I've already pulled out of ebay. I'm in the process of pulling out of Paypal. It's all bad juju and there are much simpler methods to pay for an item.

I hear ya there man....I've already done just this. I no longer buy/sell on ebay. I'm down to one set of pies and two Ludwig kits with new Yamaha hardware (stands/pedals, not mounts) and will probably keep it this way for quite some time. The fees and risks with PayPal and Ebay became much to great to my liking in recent years.

I cured this long ago i just set up a checking account just for PP whenever i sell a item i immediately transfer the money to my checking account and then pull it out.. and they have never held funds , it amazes me that people get upset over this it is better than people hacking into your account spamming or worse I know i want the buyer of my goods verified just good business sense and with a dedicated account you are not giving any info to them that is of your family accounts etc... there is no such thing as being off the grid anymore you have to pay to play... I agree it sucks but it is cheap for the convenience of having your funds instantly...

I did the same thing by setting up a checking account 10 years ago just to move money from P/P to me.But the only bad thing it takes up to 4 days to move your money before its in your checking account. If the buyer opens a case before you move your money P/P will put a hold on your P/P account till the case is close. You will have to wait to get your money...I should know iam dealing with P/I/T/A #2 on a listing i will not see my money for the sale to the 21st of them mount...The case was open on the 25th of last month..Case was open 3 days after i sent the item out.Saying he did not get the item yet hes in GERMANY......Mikey

To put it simply I HATE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!! Pay pal sucks!!!! I'm having it out with them as I type this. they have now placed my sales money on a 21 hold due to I didn't sale enough Items in a 6 month period. This was just implemented today on many of us sellers on ebay that use paypal, I'm looking into getting a credit card machine and using propay as my payment methods.

IS propay owned by P/P?...Mikey

I believe it is, are you saying that when buyer opens a case you cannot use your PP acount at all to buy or sell? that would suck........I stopped shipping international, had a disgruntled buyer say I mis re-presented the item, which is not true, I offered to refund him the full amount of the item, but then he didnt want to pay for shipping back to the U.S., that is standard protocal for a buyer to pay for ship on return. Some poeple youi cant please no matter what you do, it was also in Germany, something in their beer I think.

My PP account is, and always has been, linked to my AMEX card. Period. I would never give anyone my banking info. (AMEX is my personal bulldog, when there's a problem.) I have not had any issues whatsoever, in the 7 or 8 years I've been a PP account holder, with this setup. I just bought an amp a week ago with no prob's, no requests from them for any additional information. Maybe I don't do enough buying and selling for them to bother me?

Good luck to those with hassles.

Slingerland,No i can still buy and sell. Its just that money on that one item is what i can't use right now..I have in the pass sold to a few members who live in Germany of this forum.I had no problems with .Iam saying that i will not ship to Germany in my listings anymore on ebay..Why this Ebayer member in Germany give me Neg. Feedback after they open the case his feedback said it was 8 days before i shipped the item to them from auctions end.My listing states my handling time is 10 days from payment he paided 5 days after the end of the auction. He open the case 4 days after i sent the item.So the bottom line is i given the tracking number on the shipment in the case he open now it will take to the 21st of this month to free that money up.That will be 6 weeks after auctions end...But for a funny side note after he open the case and left feedback he bid on another item i had....Mikey
