Pearl fiberglass drumset? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

Hi group. I wanted to see if I could pick your educated minds. I picked up a set of what seems to be a mid 70's era Pearl "all" fiberglass set. It is all original from what I know based on the badging. It is an 8 piece set and I have never owned such a large kit..,so I am kinda out of my element here. I can speculate the value and I have called a couple of local music stores and asked them for values..,they are kinda all over the place. So if anyone can assist me I would appreciate it. Thanks, Kelly

Those are great drums and it looks like they are in good shape. I don't think they are highly collectible and I am guessing they may be worth around $600. I'd gig those and leave the valuable stuff at home!

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, I'd say early to mid 70s, based upon the spurs and the hex-type tom arms. As Lingontega said, they're not very "collectible" and not highly sought after... however, the shells are nearly indestructable and can be tuned to just about whatever sound you're looking for. Most drummers that I know that have owned Pearl FG shells never lose their appreciation for them.

Also a factor in value will be the sizes of drums. If that's a 14x24 BD, if one of the FTs is 16x18, if your toms are 9x13 & 10x14 (instead of 8x12 & 9x13), your set will bring more because those sizes aren't as easy-to-find as the "standard" 22/16/13/12 set.

Also you appear to have original hardware. Nice set!
