Picked up an early 70's President snare in a deal several months ago, it's missing half of the adjustable butt plate. My local parts sellers have failed me, anyone got one of these parts?
Photo #1 is of my incomplete butt plate. Second photo is of a similar drum that I believe has the part I'm looking for.
You might want to ask the fellas over in the NON -USA drums forum about this. I have 2 President snares with phenolic shells. The butt plates are not like yours. The bars are flat and thick. The one you have pictured looks like the butt plate on the 70's cob that I have. The plates are curved on the edges. In my pics the red oyster is the phenolic President and the chrome is the COB. With a quick search I found a full set on ebay, so you should be able to find just a butt plate. BUTT all I can see missing in your pics is a screw. I'm a noobie, so you should take this to the non-USA forum.
Yeah, I've seen those flat ones like the ones in your photos, and I wish it were one of those, but mine shows the threaded piece for the rod, which means the rod is missing.
However, I bet they have the same hole pattern. Perhaps if I find one of these ones I can swap it.
