What was the cut off what album where the tape had so much on it and it had been tracked over and over and over, and they thought it was starting to stretch and was near to breaking, and they would have lost it all..... or Urban Myth ??
Can't remember.....
I liked when they mentioned that the kick and the bass player weren't hitting together. In the early 70's, people started getting bonkers about that. Bands would rehearse and stop the tune and because the bass player didn't hit a "let" with the kick on the bridge. It got real stupid. Since I've been sequencing for that last long while, I've hardly done anything where the kick and bass player hit rhythms together. Thank you very much.
The bass player on that tune had a nice way of playing with his fingers plus adding pops as well. With many bass players the bottom completely falls out when they slap. I'm 50/50 on slapping. Lots of guys who do it, to me, shouldn't. But I love it when it's done right, who doesn't.
It was nice to find out that Michael McDonald can sing almost as out of tune as I can.
Even the pros have bad days !!!!!!!!
