Just a heads up, saw this on Rolling Stone.com

Might be a good opportunity to get some up close pics etc...

You have to post pics! Please! :)

Have vintage drum nerds ever had a chance previously to get up close and personal with the kit like this? I dont think high-res photos are out there at all? I wonder if the museum will allow pics at all, fingers crossed. May be able to smuggle some shots with an iPhone discretely.

If they do allow pics, I'm happy to take requests for specific angles/items/elements.

The Grammy Museum is a worthwhile visit for the most part, but its occasional gaps in percussive knowledge lead me to question the veracity of some of the other displays.

They displayed Keith Moon's gold kit from Tommy several years ago. I don't remember the exact display information, but it said something about the Premier hardware that was quite obviously Rogers Swiv-O-Matic. I sent the curator a message as nicely as I could (I receive messages from know-it-alls in my day job) and even referred to this forum, and basically got a "thanks, but we know what we're doing" response.

As far as I know, a photo of Cozy Powell is still captioned as Carl Palmer in the "progressive rock" section of an otherwise impressive display of musical genres.

I hate to nit-pick because many of the displays are both beautiful and informative.
