Picked up some beautiful 1965 Club Dates Yesterday! Last viewed: 4 hours ago

In all my years of collecting this has to be the most complete kit I have ever come across! 1965 Club Dates in Champagne Sparkle with Matching Jazzfest! It needs some love as far as rust on the nickel hardware but there are no extra holes and the wrap is in great shape and should clean up nicely! Really excited about this one! Came with some cool pies as well. A pair of Paiste Formula 602 Hi Hats, A ludwig Standard ride with rivets but the rivets are missing and I am not sure of the final cymbal. It is a small rivited cymbal with a very faint stamp on the bottom. I would love some help with that if anyone knows. The faint stamp kind of looks like Zilco to me but it is read backwards and there are no other stamps n the cymbal.

Oh and the mystery cymbal! Any thoughts on what this is? Faint stamp is the only mark I can find

Great little Club Date set. I rejected WMP, Champagne Sparkle, Silver Sparkle, and two-tone Duco paint jobs back in the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's when I was gigging. I rejected those wraps because they were what the old guys played. I rejected the Duco because that's what the beginners or the really, really old guys played. Now that I'm one of old guys working my way toward becoming a really, really old guy, I love those wraps and the Duco finishes.......except for Silver Sparkle that I still don't like.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Thanks! I think the big bonus was that it actually came with a Jazzfest versus the Pioneer that the Clubdates usually came with. Excited to get this one cleaned up and running. It will be a nice little brother to my 64 Downbeat in Champagne! Which was atually the first vintage kit I ever bought and restored with the help of this site many years ago. And with all the snares I have collected over the years I had yet to score a Jazzfest

Awesome score! Club date kits are fantastic cool looking sets. They are gonna sound great!

And that original front head with the bunnies is too cool!

Congrats on the score! Is that a "Speedmaster" I see clamped onto that bass drum? That's one of my favorite pedals.

Forgot to mention this is the first kit I have purchased from the original owner. It was really cool to talk to the guy who actually bought it new.

Anyone have any thoughts on the mystery cymbal?

Oh and yes that is a Speedmaster Old School! Is this model reversible even though it doesn't say Reversible on the pedal board?

Nice kit ! The other valuable piece on your kit is the Formula 602 hi hats..

If you check Steve Maxwell's site, you'll see how much they go for.. I have a

set of almost mint 15" medium Blue Labels circa 1983, and they're going for

$500-700 !
