Nice kit. So it's neither a Downbeat (20/12/14) nor a Super Classic (22/13/16) with those sizes. I have the same sizes in Oyster blue pearl. It doesn't seem to be a catalogued set but I've seen quite a few so you could obviously order this set up. The only problem is telling people what it is - sort of a down classic or a superbeat I guess.

Great score; lovely set. I think they found the right owner. Enjoy. Walking

There are 22" single BD's out there too,of course.........

Someone might even want to do a straight trade........

Nice configuration.

I happen to have the Black Diamond Pearl 20,16,13 keystone. Not a "Down-beat" or Super just a nice kit.

The bass has a nice cigarette burn near the back, close to the tom mount. Smoky bar...

Played it a lot in nursing home, country gospel gigs for seniors. Played softly with a Les Paul and key board, those old Luddy shells are heaven!

I love Black Diamond Pearl! Here is a pic of my '66 Superclassic. I just got a call from a local pawn shop about a 3 piece set of Fibes. I love pawn shop deals!

What a fantastic first vintage kit! I have a Ludwig/WFL project kit stamped Dec 1958 which is a 22/16/12 setup, so sometimes there is no way to classify the outfit. As players, I'm sure we're all happy just the same to have the drums in the first place. I know I am!

I ended up buying the Fibes today. They aren't vintage though...actually complete opposite. They are brand new and have never been played. Still in the original packaging with the fibes heads and all. The problem is it's missing a tom. The set came with a 24" bass drum, 14" tom, and 16" tom. They are sooo nice looking! Wish I could find a matching tom!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
