Beautiful drum.
Picking up a n.o.s. 6,5x14 big r dynasonic (metal) tomorrow! Last viewed: 3 hours ago
Thanks Glenn! Yes, she's a beauty. I guess the fact that is a Big R keeps the people very shy to make any offer. I don't see any real difference on the quality of this drums compared with the script badges era though…
Beautiful snare Vinny! Perception, deserved or not affects other instruments too. You got pre CBS Fender, CBS Fender and back to just Fender. Gibson-Gibson Norlin and back to Gibson.
Each instrument needs to be evaluated on its own merits instead of what era it originated.
$1,200?-worth every penny... and hope you get your price.Eventually this snare will command much more.I just love Rogers as they are still and always will be "The Cadillac" of drums to me and that one looks like it was just shipped out of the factory yesterday...

Thanks for your kind words Wayne and Heraldo. I had a hard time trying to price this up because there's no real reference on NOS drums. You can find NOS hardware or accessories but boy, how hard is to find a drum from 1980 which hasn't received a stroke on its head. I guy told me yesterday that if you care about that kind of stuff you're stupid because the sound is going to be the same anyway. I just rolled my eyes…
Now, People: Please make sure you read the "Open to partial trades" and "Or best offer" lines! The price is not set in stone! Im not a Dynasonic guy (I'm way too dumb to understand the beauty of its system!) and I prefer the drum to go to the right hands…
Cause you got the bug dont'cha?

There was no difference in quality between the script badge and Big R badge COB Dynasonics. The Big R drums are every bit as good or better. The bottom hoop is much improved over the original. Please check your PM...
Vinnie I put this information up on the
Rogers Fb pages, and forwarded it to a coupl international contacts as well
having keyboard issues.

The paradox of N.O.S. is that you pay more for an item that has never been used...but you can never use it yourself lest you ruin whatever value lies in the fact that it hasn't been used.
Like the action figure still in the original sealed package that has never been, nor will ever be, played with.
Of course with drums such things rarely pop up and this is a very cool find. I'm just curious what the next owner will do with it. To somone that is strictly a collector I guess it wouldn't matter.

I can tell you what he's going to do with it. He's going to put new Remo heads on it and play it. I don't buy drums as investments, I buy them to play them. The original heads will be safely put away so they stay new.
