My MIJ snare needs some of that thin plastic strap . The thread if bought at ????? has to much give. I have re tightened the thread 3 times now and it still comes loose. I think the plastic stuff is what I need. Thanks,MME

You can get it at almost any music store, brick-n-mortar or innerwebs. It's usually very inexpensive.

Even your local shop should have a Gibraltar "rescue kit" for around 10 bucks that has all sorts of goodies in it. (it has cord...sorry, but below is a good link for some strap)
