Playing drums and automatic watches Last viewed: 3 minutes ago

From bunnyman

I think the watch will always stay home in it's winder box at gig time.Never wore rings whilst playing, either. My fingers swell too much when I play.

Sure it's your fingers?...guess it depends on what kinda playing you're doing! LoLoLoLo

I don't even wear "Bling" off stage, so this is a moot topic for me. Even when I was married (we won't discuss the actual numbers here) I've never worn rings, they me itchy! Never really understood the concept of putting a piece of metal on a body part...guess that's why I like pocket watches. Rings have always felt like little "dog collars" for your fingers...to me it makes more sense putting it through your nose!...that way you could hang a set of brushes or a Triangle on it & utilize it during a solo! Cool1

It seems also that some people could serve community forums better by sticking to subjects of which said forums were started, rather than waste their time and server space with mindless verbage. Examples are posted below for reference.

It would be great if Bunnyman, Fungus, and BBK just stopped addressing each other. Problem solved.

It's just carryover from another forum where they were saying all sorts of foul things about this forum and Jesus and just about everything else. BBK caught 'em and sent the copies of the discussion out. I reckon they are Going to continue this until the Good Lord takes them ... which won't be long. Just hit Ignore on the names and let 'em spew whatever garbage they wish to spew. David and Tommy will handle it however they choose. I haven't read their stuff for a while.

OK-OK...this is a Forum & as such should be fun, especially when the thread is started in the general topics section. Bunny & myself are just having fun!...are we both retards? Absolutely!...but are we knowledgeable about percussion, it's history and gladly giving of our time & knowledge to help others? Absolutely! Just like everyone else on this site...we're just goofy!...not sure how I hooked up with the cwazy wabbit, but he's a very real friend & I will defend him from both foreign & domestic aggressors, unless his dumb a$$ is wrong...than I'll jump his a$$ also!

This is a Forum guys!...if you don't like what someone is saying, walk away...don't participate or block the SOB you don't like...it's easy! I could understand if this or some of the other silly stuff we both rant about was listed in the pure Vintage section, but it's not...it's under general...that's what the general category is for!...because let's face it, a whole lot of the content on this site is so boring it makes me want to go on a tri-state killing spree. Sometimes you have to have a little fun! We all do this because it's a passion, but there's nothing wrong with having some fun at the same time! I know this might be a shock to all you guys, but we're the only ones that really give a $hit about this stuff...my girlfriend told me that if I died, she'd pile it all up in the front yard, set it on fire & invite the neighbors over for a cook-out!

Here's an idea, why not just defuse this situation?...it's dumb as hell anyway...who you gonna beat-up online? "OH!...fungus is down-fungus is down!...he took a wicked right mouse click to his video RAM!!!...that's really going to effect his memory!"..."you think you have any brain damage fungus?"..."well I don't see any!...yo Adrian, where's Paulie & Mick?"

Read the description of General, it says and I quote "General Drum Questions" Drums and music/instrument topics

No, it's for General Drum Questions, Drum and music/instrument topics. If the content doesn't appeal to you, don't try to liven it up by taking it to the gutter or other avenues.

Fun is fine, but being disrespectful to this forum by trying to get around the filters, posting lewd comments and starting posts or polls that you purposely put up to be disruptive to others here is not FUN, it's downright rude.

If anyone want to share their info, great!!! If anyone wants to make posts that are purposely started to cause conflict, then I personally ask that they don't. I don't speak for all here, just myself. As a long time member here, you and your friends antics have IMHO, become a tarnish on an otherwise gleaming cymbal....and I think that you all should do your best to make the cymbal gleam again, not tarnish it further.

Out of respect for other members of this forum, I am no longer going to post any more comments on this thread or respond to any more posts by the gentlemen that this post is pertaining to.

Quod dixi dixi

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Indeed!...

I think at the 5 page mark it's a good time to lock the thread.. NOT DELETE.. lock. There is actually some excellent point/counterpoint found within these 5 pages, and from ALL parties. Here's the thing: We're not as strict with the "rules" as some may think... but by the same token, it IS a Vintage Drum Forum. David's whole concept from the beginning was to have a place where drummers/vintage drum enthusiasts could "Ask a question, get an answer". He never really wanted this to be your "typical" drum forum where everything under the sun was discussed, etc. I guess if you think about that for a moment, you'll see that we HAVE been pretty lax with "The Prime Directive". ( cue the Star Trek theme! ) So, all that said...

All members are still welcome here!.. ( no one has been BANNED ) .. but we respectfully ask that you kind of try to fit in to what this place is supposed to be all about. And for the record, levity is KING!!! We don't have to treat this forum like it's a funeral home either... THAT was never the intent. Carry on men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
