playing in an apt. Last viewed: 3 hours ago

My Nephew lives in an apartment complex and he went to talk to the complex manager. He told me that as long as he followed the rules of the apt complex and not play between 10pm and 10am he could play his drums. I had never heard of anything like that. I recently asked if anyone complained. He said not one complaint, but a couple people knocked on his door and asked if they coulld watch.

They do make mesh practice heads. That is always an option to get live feel without pi ss ing off the whole world.

+1 for mesh heads.

Or use brushes or rods, or rubber mufflers. Just don't sell the drums!! Try to find some nice rehearsal place where you could keep them. I'm facing the same problem.

Yes, my brother lived in an apartment top floor and used Pearl mesh heads for their rythem traveller drumset, they still make noise from the resonant heads the kick drum still vibrated the floor so he removed the front and he used heavy cardboard for his cymbals. you just have to play along with the stereo up and NO rimshots!

it works but it is like neutering your kit!
