Please can you help identify this drum Last viewed: 48 minutes ago

Hi, please can anyone help me confirm the age and type of this Premier drum and how much it may be worth.

I think its a marching drum of some sort purely as it came with a strap. I bought it 25 years ago just to make a noise on and am now thinking its time someone else used it.

It has skins on both sides and am pretty sure its not a snare as there are no rattles to it, just plenty of bass.

Not sure if its wood but it has a black shiny finish.

It measures 16" across and about 12.75" tall.

Has 8 lugs and a round chrome "thing" holding the skin on and a hook for the harness.

The Premier plate has a number 13846 or 8 if that's any help.

It has Everyplay extra skins on it.

I have looked around trying to confirm what it actually is - maybe Millitary Tenor as that's the closest size I could find.

Lastly is it worth anything? I paid £50 all those years ago.

Many thanks

Appears to be a marching Tenor drum, probably from the 70's. The rope sort of thing is decorative. My high school marching band used the metal shelled version of these drums and they sounded very good. As with most marching drums probably not a lot of value there as demand is low unless the parts can be used for other things. In the US that drum would probably bring between $50 -$100 max. Maybe not even $50 unless someone was looking for one like that for whatever reason.

I agree with the above. Mid - early 70's(may even have a date stamp inside the shell). Not a lot of value in marching snares.
