I snagged this vintage snare at an antique shop this weekend. There is no indication whatsoever of a manufacturer, and I don't know much about drums of this vintage. It is a 4 x 14" six lug. There is no strainer, and no provisions for the mounting of one. The shell has a dent where one should be, as though it should be rim mounted. The shell is probably plated brass, as it's non-magnetic, except for just at the lip. I would imagine the rim lip was formed around a steel wire. There is a thin wood reinforcement inside that's bolted to all of the tubular lugs. The shell is nice and round, though the remaining rim is not. There is a vent hole, but it has no grommet. It is a simple, plain, hoop with no holes. The lugs have clamps to secure the rim, like a modern kick. The lug tubes on the shell are non magnetic, while the fasteners and clamps are steel. The rim lug bolts have a sharp point at the bottom to help guide them into the tubular lug.

I would like to procure the bottom rim and fasteners as well as a strainer to get this guy playable once again. Pictures are soon to follow, but in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
