I'm really new to vintage drums (this is my first post actually :) ) and I would like to get help identifying this Premier drumset. The owner says it's a 70's kit but I'm not quite sure. How much do you think it worths?
Thanks a lot!
Cheers,
Peter

I'd say late 60's to mid 70's. The wrap doesn't look original. I don't see that wrap in any of the catalogs.
What is he asking?
Thanks a lot for the reply. I just found almost the same kit in Drumarchive's 1972 Premier catalog it's wrap is V silver star (page 8).
He's asking my 200x Premier Artist Birch shell set for it...
Figures it's in the catalog I don't have. lol
Don't trade it, keep your AB.
Thx!
So you say it doesn't worth that much. How much do you think it worths?
Personally, I would make that trade!!!!
I don't know about the newer Artist series drums. But my guess is that they're not 3-ply, re-ringed birch like those silver ones probably are (could be mahogany I guess too).
I LOVE that silver finish!
I wonder if those drums are metric or internationally-sized though; what are the diameter dimensions?
That finish is cool. I had a tom in that finish; it's strange; kinda textured.
I think these are international sized drums; looks like 8 lugs on that floor.
This is a nice looking kit.

So finally... I made the trade. :) And it was because of the sound. I'm playing mostly 60's, 70's deep funk/garage and afro beat and it's just perfect for that. Much smoother, way quieter than the Artist and it feels much better to play on.
The wood is dark brown I think is mahogany. Yes, the finish has a slight kinda cut wooden texture. It's internation-sized: 20", 12" and 14". With coated Ambassador heads the sound has a beautiful body and deepness.
1972 as the manufacturing date would be right.
The question is not: what it's worth?
The question is: where are you (and the seller) located?
This kit (missing the second rack tom plus the snare drum plus the hardware?)
in UK: approx. GBP 150 - max. 250.
In continental Europe: > EUR 200.
In USA: ... no idea ...

I'm from Hungary and so is the seller. Since we're not talking about 2000 EUR drums or so (neither these or the Artist) I realized that the most important is how I feel when I'm playing these drums. And it was much better than the Artist... (I'm not a collector)
