Just wondering if any of you have had any dealings with an e-Bay seller located in Florida that uses the ID "drumpartscounter"? I've got an eery feeling that this might be the former "Pooder". Please tell me that I'm wrong!
Pooder? Last viewed: 7 hours ago
Either that or you'll see pieces of it listed at ridiculously high prices. I see lots of Slingerland parts listed by leecountymusic and the prices are typically pretty high, not all though. I bought some 13" COB sticksavers from her when I couldn't find them anywhere else (I was either not a member here or had just become one). Anyway, it cost me $125! They are in near mint condition, though. So, I guess you get what you pay for with this one - if you're willing to pay the price. Problem is, I'm pretty sure a lot of nice, complete drums get stripped of their parts and sold in separate listings.Good luck with your transaction! I HATE drama! Life is too short for all that.
Very nicely stated. THANKS for your input!
+1. I have bought quite a bit from the members here and all I am proud to call freinds as well. In each and every case I knew exactly what I was buying. And all have been very positive transactions. One even shipped me the goods before I sent out the payment. Which really adds character above and beyond all. Truly class acts in my book.
Ditto for me!
I wouldnt buy cold water in hell from Jonas. As for the quality of service for these particular sellers, you do get what you pay for. What you are paying for are collector grade parts from stripped drums and full sets. What you are paying for is the destruction of the very thing we love. What you will be getting in the future .... will be ..."collector" grade sets that are put together with period incorrect parts and sold as the OMG I found this fantastic set. Drum strippers are destroying what we hold dear. As for their dependability........ this one has attempted at least once to sell a fake Rogers Dynasonic as the real deal. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on this, after all once a drum belongs to a person, then it is theirs to do with as they please. And that is how the only Rogers Powertone Aluminum shell snare drum came to be raped down to the last nut bold and washer by these people. So if that is the ethic you want to support...... feel free to do so. I wont.
Very well put big fella !!
Perhaps that is the issue. If you were to stand ON your words, it might have credence as foundational truth. As it is, you stand BEHIND ... semantically hiding.
Just a grammatical observation that may or may not mean anything.
Turdie Ruffles seems to have a fairly positive following. Not sure what that says, either.
People are funny that way. They tend to gravitate towards that which they trust and are most comfortable with. Turdie Ruffles evidently instills a sense of peace in the members. I know I like the guy. Maybe there's something to what the majority are attempting to communicate to you. And maybe it's nothing at all. It's really up to you where you carry it and how it's perceived. Good luck and happy trails.
I apologize to all my fellow forum members for even initiating this post. It's unfortunately turned very personal and very ugly very quickly for whatever reason. If I would have known that this would be the result I would never have posted it in the first place. Again, my apologies.
Coward - say to my face whatever is on your mind. I don't know you, have never met you, and I have no idea what your problem is with me. Spit it out.
For my friends at VDF:
This hemorrhoid of a human being has been following me around spewing this bile for almost a year now. I have ignored it for the most part because I figured this is just a lonely guy with emotional problems sitting alone in his underwear at home sniping away at strangers from the safety of his laptop.
Cowards and bullies will never say the things they say face to face.
1. He keeps saying that, (and I'll quote him here,) "he is know to cobble together parts on shells and spray paint finishes on them, then list them as all original."
He's talking about my 59' club date kit. There are so many pages of threads on that kit, both here and at DFO that I'll allow anybody who cares to, to read them. I have never misrepresented -anything- that I have ever sold to anyone. Period. That little club date kit happens to be one of the 'better known restorations' that many drummers are familiar with and even commented positively on the job I did saving that little kit.
I advertised it for sale here and sold it here. The sale was open, honest, everybody knew the kit and its history. The buyer, to this day, is still very grateful that I sold him the kit. He uses it to record and gets nothing but compliments on it.
Plexi69 and Johnnyringo were the only ones that had a "problem" with my sale. They spoiled the first for sale thread and I had to start a second one. Johnnyringo was going on about how ugly the drums were and how ridiculous my price for them was because -he- could never get the price I was asking for club dates.
Plexi was ranting about how I was trying to be deceptive, presenting the kit as 'original' when it wasn't. Mind you, everybody else is not only familiar with the kit, but because of the long threads I started about the kit, they know it's history. I was always proud of that paint job. I bragged about it. I never once in my for sale ad claimed that the finish was 'original.'
Up until now, I have ignored this pimple on my a$$ called Plexi69. But I'm a little sick and tired of it. The following is nobody's business. But in the interest of finally putting the DFO thing to rest, I will make the following statement. I don't like being put into a position to have to do it.
Plexi - Pray to whatever Guardian Deities you believe in that we never run onto each other. Whenever, wherever, I'm going to punk you like your daddy should have years ago. All I have to say to you is; get laid or get a life. Apparently, you really need to get out more often. More; social interaction, less; sitting at home spanking the monkey and flinging crap at your laptop.
In the name of putting this to rest once and for all....
Re: DFO -
I came here about 8 months ago from DFO. A -lot- of the guys here, know me from there and know 'something' about what went down over there. I'm going to tell you what happened so that mental deficients like Plexi won't be able to concoct lies (out of whole-cloth) about it anymore.
Please note: I didn't 'change my screen name' when I joined here. I had no need or reason to hide my identity, my past, or to present myself as 'someone else.' I wanted to continue as Purdie Shuffle because I had earned a good reputation under that name, and a lot of my internet friends either knew me as, John, or Purdie Shuffle.
If, as Plexi claims, I had 'something to hide' or if I was trying to deceive, using my same old screen name would be pretty stupid. Anyone who knows me, knows; I may be a lot of things, but 'stupid' is not among them.
This - for the record- is what happened at DFO. If I'm telling any lies, or putting any spin on any facts, there are a bunch of DFO members here (including one of DFO's moderators!) that know me, know the story, and that continue to be counted among my friends. They will jump in here dbl. quick and tell you whether I'm making up $hit or not.
Last July 7th 2011, my son was very badly injured in a motorcycle accident while he was on his way to work. I shared the info with some of my drum buddy's at DFO so, DFO'ers were aware of what had happened.
I am a retiree living on a very tight fixed income. After a divorce 7 years ago, I was left with just enough $ to buy the house I currently live in, but nothing left over after that. When my son got hurt, my first instinct, as his father, was to help out in every way I could. I knew it would take time for my son's benefits to kick in. I wanted to plunk a hunk of change into my daughter-in-law's hands and say, 'Here, this'll get you through until his bennies kick in.' Any father would want to do that under the circumstances.
Because of my own situation, I simply didn't have a few thousand dollars sitting in the bank to give to my son and his family. So, I posted a For Sale ad at DFO, and I told the guys that I was selling off a bunch of stuff to raise money for my kid. That's it... that's all I did. Post that ad offering my drum gear and explaining 'why' I was doing it. What happened next was not only beyond my control, but it eventually went out of control.
I live in Reading, Pennsylvania. (I moved here after my divorce,) which is a 3 hour drive from New York city where my son, daughter and four grandchildren all live. When James got injured, I was spending 6 to 7 hours a day on the road getting back and forth from the hospital. I didn't have much time for computers or DFO. Here's what happened:
My son is a New York City firefighter. We are deeply proud of the fact that James replaced one of the brave young men that sacrificed their lives to save others on 911. James was assigned to Engine 6 as an honor that was bestowed on him by the NYFD for finishing -First- in his class at the academy.
The guys at DFO knew all that because as a very proud father, I had told them.
I came home late from the hospital one night to check and see how my sales were doing, and much to my surprise, I found another for sale thread called: "Save Purdies Drums!" My jaw dropped...
One of the guys, (my friend, Pat) posted a fund drive so that my friends could contribute to a fund for my son and his family, and - so that I wouldn't have to sell my drums! I openly wept at my computer when I saw what the guys were doing for me and for my family. I was very deeply touched and humbled by the gesture.
I begged them, please not to do it. I'm a proud guy, my family is my responsibility, and I was more than willing to do what I had to do to help my out my son. They wouldn't hear of it. They blew me off and in three days, my friends at DFO all contributed $2700. for my son's family.
It blew my mind how much they raised and how fast it happened. One week later, I handed a check to my son for the $2700.00. I was so honored by, and grateful to, that wonderful bunch of drummers at DFO. It was the most incredible thing anyone had ever done for me or my family. Good feelings were shared by all.
Two weeks after all this, I received a pm from the owner of DFO. In it, he explained to me that Paypal had shut down his account because of raffles or gambling on the DFO site. Chris, the owner used to raffle off donated drums in order to raise operating funds for the website. Paypal considered that, "gambling" and froze his account. What it had to do with me was; the fund raiser that Pat and the boys had conducted for my son.
I explained to Chris that, a. no items were exchanged for the donation, ergo no 'gambling' and b. -I- had nothing to do with it. I didn't understand why Chris was telling me all this Paypal stuff. I never conducted a fund raiser, never raffled anything off or even had anything to do with initiating or conducting the fund raiser. That was all done while I was at the hospital.
I told Chris I was sorry for his trouble with Paypal and that I would'nt run or participate in any fund raisers in the future. I figured that was good enough.
It wasn't. Chris had a real bug up his a$$ about the money that had been raised on his website. He started harassing Pat via PM to the point where Pat refunded -all- of the donations out of his own pocket. I wasn't privy to the conversation between Chris and Pat, but I know that Pat got upset enough to issue refunds to all the donors just so Chris would stop chewing on him about it.
I was completely horrified to learn of all this behind the scenes stuff that was going on. I wrote a scathing note to Chris asking him what his problem was and why was he harassing Pat. The next day, I get a pm from Chris accusing me of using DFO to sell pot! He informed me that his evidence came from my private emails and that as a result, he was going to lock me out of the DFO website.
I have not been able to access DFO since.
I couldn't defend myself against the lies that started to spread about how I was just a drug dealer and that my sons accident was a lie, the fund raiser was just a scam. Gossip and lies spread by the likes of Plexi.
That is what happened at DFO. I refuse to discuss it further or add to my already long account. It was what it was, it is what it is. My only regret and deep shame is; I have never been able to repay poor Pat for the burn he took. All in the name of helping out a friend.
Plexi - Phuck you! I don't expect to hear another word out of you, you miserable worm. You don't know me and you have nothing better to do with your time than to annoy strangers. Get a life.
John

As the others have said, they are all one in the same. I waited a long time to get the correct t-rods for my kit, and there were plenty of them for sale, proudly displayed on the crimson, paisley, cloth by the drum stripper extraordinaire. I passed and found them from some kid who was not a drum stripper, obviously.
If you want a real hoot, read the fine print on Leecountymusic's shipping! They all but tell you that they will send you a second bill, which is permitted, to cover heat bills, rent etc. It is funny! To quote Nancy Reagan..."Just Say No!"

drumhack Eye BallClapping Happy2guitar2guitar3D' Drummer
Drumhack, good for you for not buying from a drum stripper! I applaud your actions!
(BTW, I just did go read the fine print of their ads, and indeed, they do all but tell you that they are going to send you a second bill. They also reserve the right to change the shipping and handling fees AFTER you've already purchased the item. How on earth is that legal? It seems to me that that would fall quite squarely under the category of fraud. But that's eBay for ya, I guess. Thanks for making us all aware of what they're doing).
