From Purdie Shuffle

An hour or so a day, every day. Now that I don't have to punch a clock anymore, I'm able to keep up a daily regimen of practice. I don't have the speed I had when I was 17, but my playing chops have gotten much better since I've been able to play daily.Funny thing: If I lay off for a few days, when I come back, I always play and sound better! Short lay-offs after a long stint of daily practice is almost like a battery recharge. I come back stronger for some weird reason. You'd think the lay-off would start the 'rusting' process, making it a little harder to come back to form right away. But not so. Go figure.John

Im the same way, a day or two off seems to help.

Thank you!

During the winter more like 40 minutes a day- in the spring/summer/fall some weekends I'll do 2 or 3 of those a day. The only days I miss are when the heater won't keep up in the garage, which is 10 deg. or lower.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Since I got my first vintage kit put together I have played nothing else.

I packed my DW's away.

I try to play for at least a half an hour or so every day. Keep on Pl

I try too play every day, but dont always get to. I pick out a cd or two and play or try to plat each song. My favorite to play with is brooks n dunns greatest hits.

I agree with john too, a cupl days off helps alot.

Must admit i don`t practice nearly as much as i used to,but i`ve been making a living playing this wonderful instrument we all love so much for 44 yrs...and sometimes practice just takes a backseat these days. On average i practice a 1/2 hr. per day on my vintage Rogers set, plus teaching on a electronic kit must count for some extra time there.

I have rehearsals with my bands twice a week each time nearly two hours. I also try to get 15-20 minutes of practice in at the house. Often very hard since I work, take care of my little one, always make dinner and try to run a business.
