Hi all firstly i am a newbie to this forum and forums in general so thank you for letting me join, and i hope hope this post comes out right.
I have just bought my 9 year old son his second set of drums, he has been drumming for just over a year now with lessons at school and private lessons after school so is very keen an improving by the minute. I thought it was time to show him his hard work has earned him a better set of drums than his starter cheap starter set. While having a drum conversation at work the boss pipes up and says his father-in-law is a retired drummer in his late seventies and looking to sell his kit, he had played in a band for 30 years so i assumed this kit would be half decent, the thing is i know absolutely nothing about drums, i have googled a few things and it seems they could be vintage drums and my search on that has lead me to you guys and i was wondering if you could shed some light on them for me please. they all say "PREMIER EVERPLAY EXTRA PLUS" on the underside heads and have a black label with red P logo on, the symbol has zildjian mini ride cup on and is 18 inch, the other has paiste mellow 15 inch the bass pedal says fleetfeet on, there is a snare, a floor tom, a tom 1, a floor bass, hi hat, symbol, and crash all the stands and all came in cases. so firstly I'm wanting to know if these are a good set of drums still for my boy to play as don't want to let him down, and secondly are they vintage, were they good in there day and what are they worth, what should i have paid for the whole set. many thanks, Paul, ps i will try and add some pics
