Premier Project needs parts Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Howdy gang,

I am in the process of adding a 2nd floor tom to my vintage Premier drum kit. I just found as close to a match as I could get on ebay (same wrap, lugs, rims, but different wood!), I just needs a few things to make it a complete drum. If any one has some of these parts to spare, I can buy them from you via Paypal, or maybe we can work out a trade. I have a lot of various parts from various drums, maybe you are also looking for something I have. I have a lot of random Ludwig stuff.

Back to my needs - I am looking for:

- Two single lugs. If you are familiar with Premier, only the floor toms had individual lugs, as opposed to the long, dual-ended ones.

- One floor tom leg. Premier floor tom legs do not have the textured, 'grippy' part for the leg mount - it's one smooth, long leg. (rrrowwrrr)

- Eight (8) rounded, "flat-head" style tuning screws. These are unique to Premier, Sonor, and perhaps other European vintage drums. They are threaded *just* far enough to get them in the lugs before they go smooth.

- One die cast rim. One thing us Premier owners LOVE about Premier drums are the unique, rounded-over-style drum rims. Considering I have standard triple-flange rims, this is lowest priority for me - This is a player's kit, not a museum piece.

Let me know what's out there. Thanks!

Premier has had several types of lugs on it's drums over the years. Close-up pix of the type of lugs you have on your kit would help ID which ones you need. Premier T rods (slotted) were rounded on top, not flat. Flat top ones were Sonor.

THanks to all -

re: Lugs - I don't know what to call them, but they're not the "sharktooth"-style of Olympics, they are like a single lug version of the double-lugs ... I'll take a picture tonight when I get home.

re: tension rods - when I wrote "flat-head", I meant like a screwdriver; I think the correct term is "slotted". But yes, the rounded-over type rods that would need a coin or slotted key to tune is what I need (8 count).

re: the rim - ....I didn't put the diameter?? SHAME on me! This would be a 16", 8 lug rim.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I just been busy with other more pressing issues.

Here's a pic that may show the lugs better:
