Price check in the Rogers aisle Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Thinking of selling this kit. 20/12/14/16 Cleveland. The 14" is two years older than the rest, which are a set with close numbers. Chrome is amazing; interiors perfect. The snare is a Cleveland too; re-wrap but an incredible sounding drum. 5 drums plus legs, tom arm, cymbal arm. What would this kit be worth in the US? Thanks very much. My estimate for US sales based on the kit appearing to be in very good condition:

The basic 20,12,16 original kit would draw from $800 to $1400 depending on whether it was sold privately or is carried by a dealer with overhead costs. Blue sparkle is one of the less popular colors though there are some serious fans of that color.

The 14x14 as a stand alone drum is only likely to be found in a private sale and would be $500 to $800 depending on how badly someone wanted it.

The Powertone snare with new wrap might carry as much as $300 if someone was trying to match it to another blue sparkle set or if they wanted to re-wrap again to their own color but didn't want to strip an otherwise original drum.

The cymbal arm is good for $100-$125, again typically only found on private sale. Dealer's don't usually stock singles unless they are web dealers, which is pretty much controlled by the same pricing as a private sale due to the competition online.

If you sell them all together, the price would be less than as individual pricing because one person has to fork out all the dough. Since the floor tom and snare are not original to the set, re-separating them would be typical here.

Good luck with your sale!

Thanks Dan. That's helpful. I am going to go for $2500 here in AU. I paid $2200 in the boom. The kit is not a rare colour, but the condition is special. However, I'm just not playing them. I've changed my viewpoint on collecting. If they are not in the car, they probably should be out the door.

I like that part, "If they are not in the car, they probably should be out the door."

I might soon have to say, if they never leave the house, they needn't be housed. Of course, rotation works too!

By the way, I have been seen from time to time on blue sparkle.

Love it! But see, if I played gigs like that, I'd keep them.

Truthfully, you don't want to play gigs like that. Stick to the real ones.

Agree with the overall assessment.

I have not played a real gig in three years. I keep hoping that will turn around.

TS: gorgeous set. Your asking price is fair, considering the 14 FT, condition and accessories. Good luck with the sale!

That is a beautiful set.

Those numbers seem about right for the US, but I would think it would be much higher overall if sold in Australia.

I agree Sanityclause. I don't know what the economy is like down under but $2500 AU seems a little low to me. Anyway, nice kit, good luck with your sale.
