Price Check - Ludwig Stainless Steel Last viewed: 3 minutes ago

I had a guy shoot me a message on Facebook. Has a nice Ludwig Stainless steel kit he wants to sell. Original owner and has kept them in great shape. Need a cleaning, but that's about it. Here are the Specs -

10,12,13,14,15,16 concert

18 floor tom

22 original bass drum

Extra 22 bass drum w/ wood shell to match set.

Also comes with -

Fibre cases for most

Supra snare,

4 heavy duty boom stands,

hi hat stand

snare stand

Tom hardware that mount onto bass drums.

I also have extended bass drums that were custom made and come in 4 pieces that slide into brackets.

All in all this is a great package. I'm not sure as to what I should offer. I don't want to low ball the guy as everything is here except cymbals and he has kept everything in good shape. My issue is I know these drums are heavy, and I'm not sure how sought after they are.

What do you guys think is fair? Again I don't wanna insult this guy with a low ball. He said throw him a number, I don't know what to toss out there. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Ask yourself how much you could get for them if you had to sell them, and go from there. A search of sold SS kits on EBay should help.

I'll say this - if the shells are in round and you put bottom heads on them, they will sound amazing.

Is there a way to verify roundness before purchase?

The guy seems really cool so I'm sure if asked to see the drums he would be fine with that. I think comfortably I could get $1,000. Hardest part I think is it's a big kit. Shipping would be costly, and a lot of guys don't need a 10 piece. I may just offer to help the guy sell them for a %. I know I'm buying to sell, but I still don't wanna insult him.

Tell him you'll buy it all for a price...

But that you will be shipping these drums to different addresses over the next mth.

So you will need him to pkg & ship as needed,

Might work...

This way you can sell individually & dble yr investment.
