Just like my first '65 set in Pink Champagne Sparkle. Except I didn't get this kind of cash when I sold it! Joke was, I sold that set for $100 in 1972, and it took 6 months to get the $100 from the buyer! LOL
Price on this set! Wow! Last viewed: 2 hours ago

This....
The historic Santana drum set that Michael Shrieve played at the 1969 Woodstock festival was one of the priciest items sold on May 20 at the “Music Icons 2017” auction at New York City’s Hard Rock Café. The drum set sold for $187,500 and was one of more than 380 lots in the sale hosted by Julien’s Auctions.
Some interesting items were sold. A little over 400 items in total. Some items went for ridiculous prices (in my book at least).
For us drum enthusiasts:
Keith Moon stage used stick $1,562
Keith Moon Who Drum Head $187,500
Pete Best & Andy White signed drum head $896

That's what I thought. This link might be better, showing the kit.

No cymbal mount on the bass. I guess you could order them like that, and just watching that clip I reckon a bass-mounted cymbal arm would need to be ridiculously strong to stand up to him! Great player...
Mike Schrieve is a good friend of mine, we went to the same high school, studied with the same drum teacher, played drums together and used to go hear music together. I have played on that Champagne drumset. I'm happy for Mike, he's a good guy!

Good for him for getting that price. That's a lot higher than I was guessing. Ludwig did offer a set like this without the cymbal mount. It was pretty much the super classic minus the mount for the cymbal and it was called the DeLuxe classic.

Just told my son he needs to get famous so he can sell our '62 WMP Super Classics for $187,000.
