Protection for Bass Hoops Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I recently bought a pair ofhoops from Precision Drum Co. I have already put on about 3 coats of primer/paint spray. Do I need to put on any type of laquer over it for protection (or anything else)...or is the paint enough? BTW they are a satin black finish like old Ludwig hoops.

3 coats should be plenty of coverage. The first coat of primer shoulda sealed the surface. You didn't say if you used an enamel or laquer paint product, either is good. Enamel is a little more durable. Besides, if you apply a coat of clear, if that's what you're asking about, it'll gloss-up your satin finish.

It's a combination primer/paint in a spray.
