Hi guys,
I've got a 60's Gretsch WMP Floor Show model, but I'd like to know the details. This is my 4th Gretsch snares, but tag is missing. I think this is 60's one because it is 6-ply and 4 points snare butt instead of one point snare butt.
Regarding the tag, "There has been a lot of discussion about this and some contradicting information. But the general consencus is that the paper tags started some time around 1962 or 1963" according to the Vintage Drum Guide.
So, I wonder when 4 points snare butt was adopted by Gretsch? After I received the snare, I found a part of around the lugs are peeled off, but covered by silver painting. Then, I doubt this snare might have been repainted and the tag also might have been peeled off the shell.
Any opinions?
Features:
-6-ply
-Microsensitive strainer
-4 points snare butt not one point
-Silver Sealer
-No tag
-No extra holes
If I have time, I'll upload the pics.
Thanks in advance!
