Question for the Slingeland folk Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on this five piece Slingerland kit with matching blue sparkle snare. The problem is that I do not see this kit in any catalog. If it was a four piece it could be the Stage Band but I do not see any kits with this type of tension rods with two toms mounted into the bass drum. Any ideas?

Just guessing it's an upgrade to the mounts.. Nice looking kit., would not deter me if the pricing is good though..

Cheers

John

I see the five piece kits sure. I was referring to a five piece kit with the "club date" style lugs and tension rods. The badge dates them to about 77 and that catalog does mention that you can get that style tom and bass drum. I was looking for an actual name of the type of kit like . . . . . The Jam Session, or Big Beat or Hollywood . . . . . if that makes sense.

Man sorry I get what you're saying, yep no name for your kit, It really doesn't matter the kit you've got is bad to the bone.

I just bought them. The purchase also comes with two crash cymbals, ride and hi hats all zildjian. In addition, a foot pedal and the cymbal stands. This is one of those awesome purchases from the original owner. Can't wait.

I just joined. I have a question about my drum set that's sitting in my attic, in there cases. I have a slingerland mother of pearl rock drum set, w Rogers snare. I purchased the set in 1976, my friend said he purchased it 5 yrs. earlier, so I'm assuming it's from 1971. I also have the zildjian symbols it came with. The hi hat stand and symbol stands were crap, so I only have the drums and the symbols. There're in real good shape, the original skins are still on them too. I'm just curious about how much they are worth. I don't have any photos of them, I can get them later, if need be. I just need a ball park figure, if possible.

Welcome to the forum. It would be best to start you're own thread about the set in question and post pics of the drums this way the entire forum will see and respond to the questions you have.

Hey Verminator! Great Stage Band kit! Like VM2K already said, there is no catalog name for this kit...but they do exist as special order! Attached are 2 kits, both in Sparkling Red Pearl. The earlier one has the original 1968 aluminum Set-O-Matic mounts, and the later one has the chrome version. I always liked the 14x16 floor toms!

Thanks so much for finding these pics. I'm guessing my kit is from around 1972 or so. I love these old Slingies. The seller is not sure if my kick is a 20 or 22. I would guess a 20 based on the picture. I will be road tripping to pick them (about a three hour drive). I love these drum road trips.
