You were a real drummer when you decided you liked playing enough to go back a second time! This just means you probably found a weak spot in your stick, or you were really into what you were playing and got to rocking a little harder than the stick could handle. Cool Dude

Keep rocking!

You're a real drummer when you take all that tape off the drumhead....:p

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

+1 Robyn - the day that seeing a drum head all taped up like that becomes a painful thing for you, you'll be well on your way toward being a real drummer!

Get all the tape off and let that Camco vibrate/sing!

HaHa...i was wondering how long it would take you guys to give me heck bout the tape. the heads i have on my drums are all worn pretty good, very dead sounding, i thought the tape kinda helped them out some til i could get a lit'l extra funds for a whole new set. another thing john, that is not my camco snare, it is an extra i have, a mij model i think. no badge or any markings of any kind one it. no tape on my camco snare tho. when i get back to work this spring i will be able to put a lit'l money towards both my kits(hopefully)

I agree that tape kills tone, but having an old T-shirt on the resonant side of your bass drum is no problem. I think it's pretty cool, too. A friend of mine had an Evans mesh head - looked like a window screen - on his BD and it sounded like a cannon. Another friend said he used airbrushed white sheets in the 80s to achieve the open BD tone while having artwork on his drum.
