Questions about snare wires and hoops Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hello - I have a set of PREMIER - 14" Die Cast Hoops, 10 Lug, in beautiful condition. There are 2 - 1/8" holes near the top edge of the batter side hoop. They are factory holes,as they are perfect countersunk holes, the holes are exactly 1-1/2" apart, something was screwed onto the top (batter side) hoop. Can someone out there tell me exactly what snare these came off of, what was screwed to the hoop, and possibly the value of the hoops??? .

I also have a set of snare wires that i have never seen before. The overall length of the snare wires is 16-11/16" long. Much longer than anything i have ever seen before. Plus the snare wires are divided into two sections of wires that each have a swivelling end on both ends. These are strange looking. Can someone out there tell me if they have seen wires like these before, and what kind of snare these would have fit, and who possibly would have made these. I have enclosed pictures of the hoops, and snare wires.I would greatly appreciate help from someone out there more knowledgeable than myself, as i'm stumped. Thank you!

The snare wires

The catalog scans here are a good source of info. I spent a few mins and saw this.......

Looks like maybe some type of extra external muffler on the top marching snare hoop. Looks like it has 2 studs or bolts holding it to the hoop.

Botton drum on the right..........

Ken your welcome! Really the thanks should go out to the owners and members here who collected the catalogs and scanned them for us all to enjoy. I just did a copy and paste. :)
