I know where one's for sale, but are they worth it from a collector's standpoint? It's at a music store and priced accordingly.

From a collectors standpoint I would say yes. It's the reason I bought it. I'm adding rare snares in excellent shape to my collection. They are like fine pieces of art in my eyes. I have plenty of player drums as well. I'm now looking for an appropriate display case if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks for the props, but alas, I do not mention anything about prototypes or first generation acrolites. I try to stick to what I know, and that topic is not one I am qualified to discuss.
