"true Old School!" Last viewed: 1 hour ago

You just never know where you might find some vintage drums, drum accessories or drum pics. I happened to find this "gem" hanging on the wall in the mens room of a local antique shop. Needless to say, I just had to have it. (Sure I did!)

After all, how often do you run across an actual photograph of Mickey Rooney sitting behind a sweet vintage drum kit (Radio Kings?) with Judy Garland ("There's no place like home!") sitting by, sporting a band conductor's "wand" in her hand?

I can only imagine the size of the "prop drum" the kit's set up on!

Great picture! The drums are almost as pretty as Ms. Garland!

What do you mean "back in the day"? (LOL!)

Jim Tressel, the "God of sweater vests", walks among us today.

Looks like there's a little "Old School" in all of us.

They look like Leedy drums to me rather than Radio Kings......if you look real close at the lugs, they appear to be Leedy beavertails

I guess I never realized that Mickey Rooney was a drummer. I knew his great nephew(?) back in the day. He had a cool old 8mm with some very sweet short reel cartoons. Needless to say, I hung at that house quite a bit.
