Radio King - Chicago Badge Last viewed: 13 hours ago

Hi, everybody,

I have a Radio King, 1-ply steam-bent maple shell, Chicago era snare that I have tried to sell on ebay. The reason I'm uploading it here on the forum is to get expert help about the authencity of its wrap. The hoops are of course not original. I have bought these die-cast hoops new. FYI.

One piece of info before I post this is: As you can may see, the lugs are original and have the original nut screws on the inside of the shell. So my personal verdict is that these screws have never been removed from its shell. So I assume that this BDP or charcoal pearl wrap is the original factory wrap from the Slingerland factory in the 50s.

All expert help is welcomed...

Thanks in advance,

Fred

Hey there.

The snare bed looks very deep, I'm sure that's aftermarket.

Way too thin. Incorrect pearl pattern. Odd looking snare bed. Edges have been altered drastically. Good "player" maybe or parts "donor". The parts are worth more than the drum itself. Those #967 strainers and the extended snare brackets are hard to find items.
