Radio King Cocktail drum?? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Saw this on CL for $25 so I'm pouncing on it. But before I get, has anyone seen anything like this? I'll give it a good inspection when I get it, but from what I see it appears to be Slingerland based on the lugs. Also has a snares inside it that lift up to the head.

I hate to admit that someone gave me one of those long before I had any understanding of vintage drums. (40 yrs ago)

It had a WMP wrap that was only held on by the lugs.

The legs were chrome tubes that were crimped at the top and attached with two bolts & wingnuts.

The snares were gone when I got it so it was essentially a 14 x 26 (? it was really deep) tom.

I traded it to a guy who wanted to use it as a single up tom on a double bass kit.

Aside from being an "oddity" those RK cocktail drums dont really have much use. Plant stand?

Heck I might even convert it to a 14" floor tom, and if I have enough extra make myself a players snare. But I'll wait before I start chopping. Who knows, someone out there may be looking for one of these.

I have one that I have no idea what to do with. I've thought of making it into a canister throne.
