Radio king tight head fit Last viewed: 20 hours ago

I have a question, my 40s radio king snare reso head is a very tight fit, ive had a diplomat snare side head on it since June- I had to really force it on it does sound great though . I put a coated diplomat on batter side(great for sensitivity I think) but am now considering a regular coated ambasador to see what that will be like instead. Anyway, does anyone think that the tight fitting 2mil reso head would affect the sound for the worst ie more choked? If a drum needs a head that fits not as tight ie American vintage would it give it a better sound? Im just curious cos I love the sound anyway, and I do prefer 2mil reso heads and maybe American vintage (or is it modern vintage) are thicker I don't know.

I'm not saying the drum actually sounds choked though, but does it affect the sound.)

I've used all the heads you've asked about. on my 40's Radio kings. I just don't like the aquarian heads, sound wise. You can get oversized heads custom ordered from remo. I don't care for diplomats, but I like ambassadors and love emperors

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I use and really like the Aquarian American Vintage thin batter heads. I also use the American Vintage snare side head. I recommend you try them.
