Selling some killer gear to pay for trip to study in NY in May. Help me get to the big apple before I turn 30!
Canopus maple 5.5x14 snare. One of the nicest looking drums I've ever seen! You know the deal with these drums - Meticulously crafted, precision everything, etc. Diecast hoops for tons of crisp focus. Amazing with brushes. $375 + shipping.
Slingerland 7x14 Student Radioking (3 ply mahogany w/ re-rings). Woody deep fat warm tone. Everything works. Edges are good. Some dings in the shell here and there but in great shape for its age. I don't know a ton about vintage Slingerland specifics, but this one has a gold Chicago badge, if that means anything. I have two other 7x14 snares so this one is extraneous and should get played more than I've been playing it. Brand new 30 strand Puresound wires on the bottom, brand new coated amby on top. I'll include the original calfskin head that was on it when I got it, too, which is still in good shape and sounds great. $325 + shipping.
And...
Some of the nicest, rarest Old As I've come across in my 9+ years as a Cymbalholic.
First up is a killing 20" Hollow Block @ 1700ish grams (I'll weigh it this weekend, but it's right in that ballpark). I don't think I've ever seen another hollow block this thin. Drilled for one rivet. Some very very light rough spots on the edges, but I'll go ahead and call it "perfect" condition, with no keyholing, warping or other funny biz. This could be your holy grail LSR or an amazing crash for an indie kinda band. $400 + ship
Next up is this righteous 17" First Stamp A @ 1280g. A true crash/ride, and does both really well (yes, it really rides as well as a 20). In good shape, with a couple very small dings and some edge roughness, but nothing unexpected for a cymbal of this age. Very cool lathe chatter on the edge, and just a really great, unique vibe over all. Really smack in the middle of an Old Stamp K and a Trans A. $375 + ship
And some First Stamp A 14" hihats, very thin at 670/690g. Trashy, dark, smokey etc. Nice "chup" sound and whispy foot splashes. Both cymbals have several edge dings (typical of thin cymbals this old) but nothing in danger of developing into cracks. No keyholing. $250 + ship
Here's a video with all three of them. Sorry for my head being in the way. Dig the 50s 3 ply Gs too, while you're at it (not for sale).
