hello everyone,

just picked up this 12" x 18" 60's Ludwig 'Jazzette' bass drum. drum is all original with keystone badge, white interior, disappearing spurs and double tom mount. in nice shape, and sounds excellent!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

neat drum.this pre-dates the jazzette and should be the bass drum to a Ludwig gold coast cocktail setup. the giveaway is that older double tom mount on the bass drum and being so close to the batter hoop,and it being an 18 of course. the top section of a very early Hercules stand went in the double tom holder and held a 3x13 jazz combo snare drum. you installed the bass pedal and played it standing up. very cool. looks to be a very late 63/early 64 model. that tom post that is with it came along a few years later. someone most likely added some toms to the kit.
