Rattle-ee Gretsch mufflers... how to SHUT THEM UP? Last viewed: 26 minutes ago

I have tried a bunch of things, to get these guys to stop being so noisy, and I am at my wits end. I think I am going to just remove them and use a nut to hold the muffler knob in place, so it still looks right, unless someone has a good trick...

Ideas?

your not gonna like this but what I did is I placed them on a vice and tapped the rivets with a hammer to tighten them up.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was just having the same problem, did a search here on VDF and found this post. I used a hammer, center punch and a small steel bench block (we school band directors have a lot of tools at our disposal). Problem solved in a flash! :)
