Those look great! Jump For Joy
Re-furbished Star set...finally Last viewed: 3 hours ago
Great work!! The gold is stunning!
Yeah, a number of outfits make them. I have an old set of W & A's and a newer Gibraltar set of front hoop spurs. In the old days, we used to use some light rope and tie the bass to the throne, but the front spurs are cleaner looking...Great restoration job! Those are real beauties!
Some velcro on the underside of your pedal will stop it creeping as long as you are playing on carpet. I use a hoop anchor and velcro and that pretty much keeps things solid.
Lovely kit BTW. I've just formed a new band called Golden Curtain and that would be a perfect wrap.
Me too- love em' and that's a superb wrap. You're going to steal the show with those. Love the Iron Cobra bass and hats combination- I enjoy playing those myself.

funny you mentioned about the spurs... for a long while, we used a concrete cinder block, but eventually the kits owner broke down and slapped a pair of these on:
Very nice job! The color, in case you don't know, is called "Fibre Gold Pearl". Had a snare in that color, 6 lugger though. If it is an 8, replace the head with with an Aquarian Z-100, you'll get better response from it than the Remo. They are about 10.00 anywhere. Also, replace the bass batter with an EMAD 1, will make big thunder over the Remo.

Hello, awc380!
I too have a couple of Star stencils: a set of Supremes and a Tempo kit. The Stars with which I use to play have the typical bass spurs of about 3/8 inches in diameter. The stencils have spurs which are somewhere between 5/16 and 3/8 inches in diameter. Probably 9 mm. These spurs must be tight and exactly equal in length from the bass mounts. Otherwise, they will vibrate. Perhaps this may help.

Awesome looking kit! Very nice!
380...
Thats a VERY nice job you did on that set, congrats.
As someone else mentioned, the great varioety of wraps onthe MIJS is awesome.....there always seems to be one that I never saw before.
Enjoy!
