Gorgeous drum!
I love gear with history.
I've got a 1940's china that I was able track the owner down (he stamped his name on the cymbal) ad discovered he played in a big band jazz outfit up and down the eastern seaboard.

Just thinking that perhaps Ringling Bros. & BB might be interested in the drum. Kenneth Feld is CEO. Just an average guy. I've met him a couple times a long time ago. I'm sure they have a museum. Who knows they may make it worth your while (translation = $$).
Anyway, cool!
Thanks everyone. It was fun to clean it up and I'm a major fan of things with an interesting history. I like the 40's china cymbal story!
Here's what it looked like when I bought it off eBay. I counted three layers of paint. Spurs came from fellow forum member "surface" who has helped me out before with parts for my Slingerland kit restoration. It'd be hard to part with after all the elbow grease to get it bare again.

Wow Steve!
